Belkin NIAP PP4.0 Secure KVM and KM Administrator Advanced Configurations – How to create custom display layouts for a KM

Last updated: 5/29/2024

Since Belkin KMs allow for up to 4 dedicated monitors connected to each computer, the KM must be configured to know where these monitors are placed in relation to each other. Like configuring the display layout on your computer, it allows the KM to know where the cursor can move between monitors or should move between computers.

Each KM contains a default configuration of a single display per connected computer laid out in a row. This can be changed by following the custom key commands in the user manual for that KM model. If you are unable to find a display layout that matches yours, a custom layout can be created using the Belkin Custom Layout Configuration software available on the Belkin support site.

The software must be installed on a computer prior to use but does not feature any drivers and is not required for proper functionality after the KM is configured. It allows you to lay out the monitors to suit your needs and generates a file that can be uploaded to your KM. The file is not locked to a single KM unit, allowing it to be uploaded to multiple KMs of the same model for easier administration.
