Windows may turn off the USB root hub to which the keyboard, video, and mouse is connected to if the computer is left idle for an extended period of time. Follow the steps below to prevent this from happening:
Step 1:
Make sure that the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power option is unchecked in the properties of the USB Root Hub to which the KVM is connected.
Step 2:
Make sure that the Allow this device to bring the computer out of standby option is checked in the properties of the mouse and the keyboard.
