Belkin Secure KVMs and KMs are designed to be plug-and-play devices. These products follow strict NIAP guidelines and, due to their secure nature, reduce the need for drivers, software, and firmware updates where possible.
Software and Drivers
Software and drivers are only required in the following scenarios:
- A driver is required when a computer used with a KM has more than 1 monitor connected to it. The driver is required for Windows® to determine the mouse location for multiple displays on that computer. If the driver is not installed, the mouse cursor will either become “stuck” on a single screen for that computer, or it will automatically move to the next channel if seamless cursor switching is enabled.
- When using a KM, a custom monitor layout is needed. Belkin provides a software tool to create a custom layout, which only needs to be installed on 1 computer to configure all KMs.

NOTE: The multi-display driver is required on any Windows computer that has more than 1 display connected to it. It is not required for macOS® or Linux® computers, nor Windows computers with only a single display.
Firmware updates
Belkin Secure KVM and KM products do not have firmware updates available. NIAP regulations block updates to these units in the field. Belkin does not provide firmware updates for download on our support site, nor is a service to update the firmware offered.
