Do I need to connect an external power supply to Port A if the adapter is connected upstream to an iPad Pro or a MacBook Pro laptop? | Yes, it will function with iPad Pro M1 and M2, as well as MacBook Pro laptops without an external power supply. These devices support more than 15W out of the USB-C ports. You will only need to connect a charger to the adapter if the host device’s capability is less than 15W. |
