This issue has been identified with the USB-A connection version of the SCR3310 with the hardware revision of 3.1. The version of these units can be seen on the internal circuit board of the card reader. We have thoroughly tested this hardware revision as well as performed destructive testing and found that it is due to a missing ground connection that causes it to not be recognized by the Belkin KM/KVM.
We have also tested SCR3310 hardware revisions prior to 3.1 and have seen that they will work with our PP3.0 and PP4.0 KVMs as these units do not lack the ground connection as seen on the REV 3.1 units.
Some symptoms you might see with this issue
2. When connecting the SCR3310 to your PP3.0 KM/KVM, the KM/KVM may not recognize the unit at all, with no lights on the KVM or the card reader. Your computer will also not recognize the card reader as connected.
3. The SCR3310 will work fine when connected directly to a computer but will not work when connected to the KM/KVM.
Troubleshooting tips
Unfortunately, due to the hardware change on the SCR3310, there is not much troubleshooting that we can provide. If the card reader does not work through the KM/KVM we recommend connecting it directly to a computer to confirm that the card reader is not faulty. If you are able to open your card reader, you can look to see what hardware revision it is.
