How to wall mount the Wemo Stage WSC010

The Wemo Stage Smart Scene Controller, WSC010 is a small handheld remote for controlling HomeKit® Scenes. The portability of the Wemo WSC010 allows you to take it with you around your home and use it in any room. Included in the package is an optional wall mount cradle and faceplate that holds the Wemo WSC010 on the wall like a light switch using magnets.

There are two ways to wall mount the Wemo WSC010:

Wall mount using the included 3M tape
Wall mount on the outlet box

Wall mount using the included 3M tape

The Wemo WSC010 package includes a mounting cradle with two preinstalled pieces of 3M double-sided adhesive and a magnetic wall mount with faceplate.

Step 1: Thoroughly clean the surface you wish to mount the cradle to. The surface needs to be dry and free of any dust, dirt or grease to ensure a strong adhesion.

Step 2: Peel the protective cover from the adhesive strips.

Step 3: Press and hold the cradle to the wall or surface you are mounting to. Continue holding and applying a gentle pressure for 30 to 60 seconds to ensure a strong bond.

Step 4: Place the faceplate on the cradle and gently press the top and bottom to snap it into place.

NOTE: The faceplate is designed specifically for use with the Wemo WSC010 cradle. It is purely cosmetic and can be left off or replaced with a standard Decora faceplate if desired.

Step 5: Place the Wemo WSC010 into the cradle. The faceplate is magnetic and will align itself with the cradle for a strong hold. It can be used in this configuration or can be removed at any time to be used in a handheld manner.

Wall mount on the outlet box

The Wemo WSC010 does not require any power from your home electrical system. It can be mounted on the outlet box in place of a light switch if you wish to control your smart devices using the Wemo WSC010. This is handy if you want to have a set of lights powered all the time and replace them with HomeKit-compatible smart light bulbs. The Wemo WSC010 can then be paired with a HomeKit Scene to control those lights instead of the light switch.

The mounting cradle included with the Wemo WSC010 package is designed to fit the standard screw holes used for light switches.

Step 1: Safely remove the existing light switch and cap off the wiring.

NOTE: The Wemo WSC010 does not connect to your home electrical system. If you replace a light switch with the Wemo WSC010 cradle, you will lose the functionality of the light switch. The Wemo WSC010 can be used to control HomeKit-compatible smart devices in your Home only.

Step 2: Place the Wemo WSC010 over the outlet box and use the screws that were holding the light switch in place to attach it to the box.

Step 3: Use the supplied faceplate or your own standard Decora style faceplate to cover up the outlet box.
