Why is only one display working with my Belkin F4U109?

The Belkin Thunderbolt™ 3 Dock Plus, F4U109 allows you to connect two high-resolution displays to your computer using the DisplayPort™ outputs on the back of the dock.  You may experience an issue where only a single display works when using the dock.  This article will discuss this issue and provide a solution on how to use dual monitors with your dock.

Issue:

When using dual displays with the Belkin F4U109 only a single display will work at a time.  Swapping the ports that the displays are connected to does not help.

What is causing this?

To use dual displays, you will need a computer or dock that supports Dual-Mode DisplayPort (DP++).  With DP++, you can use a passive adapter/cable to run multiple monitors from a single computer.  The Belkin F4U109 supports DP++ on a single port only.  If your computer’s video card does not support DP++ output, only one display will work with the dock.

How to get dual displays to work?

When using dual monitors, you will need an active DisplayPort cable or adapter and use it with the monitor that is not showing a display.
