How to tune your Belkin TuneCast® In-Car 3.5mm to FM Transmitter, F8Z880

The Belkin TuneCast® In-Car 3.5mm to FM Transmitter, F8Z880 allows you to play audio from your phone using the FM radio in your car.  This article will walk you through finding an FM station to use with your Belkin F8Z880.

NOTE:  Before you begin, ensure that your Belkin F8Z880 is plugged in and powered on.  It is recommended to lower the volume on your car stereo to reduce the risk of loud noise when tuning into the station of the Belkin F8Z880.

Tuning your Belkin F8Z880

The Belkin F8Z880 provides two options for choosing an FM frequency:

Using ClearScan to select the best FM frequency (recommended)

The Belkin F8Z880 uses ClearScan technology to scan for the clearest FM frequency in your area.

Press the ClearScan button on the front of your Belkin F8Z880 to activate ClearScan.  Your Belkin F8Z880 will search through the FM frequencies in your area and find the clearest one.  It will display the frequency on the front display of the Belkin F8Z880 and begin broadcasting on that frequency.

Once a frequency is locked in, tune your car stereo to the frequency displayed on the Belkin F8Z880 and enjoy your music.

NOTE:  If your audio signal decreases while using your Belkin F8Z880, simply press the ClearScan button again to locate a new FM frequency to switch to.


Manually selecting an FM frequency

If you want to manually choose a frequency to broadcast on, you can do this with the manual frequency buttons on the front of your Belkin F8Z880 between the LCD frequency display and the ClearScan button.  These are marked with a (+) and (-) symbol.

•    Frequency up (+) – Pressing this button increases the FM frequency in .1 MHz increments.
•    Frequency down (-) – Pressing this button decreases the FM frequency in .1 MHz increments.

Use the frequency up and down buttons to select the FM frequency you wish to use the Belkin F8Z880 with.  Once you have found a frequency, you can tune your car radio to this and begin listening to audio.

Storing a favorite frequency

The Belkin F8Z880 allows you to store up to two frequencies in its onboard memory for future use.  This is done using the m1 and m2 buttons above the LCD frequency display.

To store a frequency, select the desired frequency on your Belkin F8Z880 using the manual tuning buttons or the ClearScan button then press and either the m1 or m2 preset button for 2 seconds.  The m1 or m2 icon will flash on the LCD frequency screen when the frequency storage is complete.

NOTE:  To access a frequency you stored previously, press the m1 or m2 button.  Your Belkin F8Z880 will change to this preset frequency.
