A flickering screen or a flashing video is commonly related to the refresh and resolution rates set on the video card. You can fix this by lowering the refresh and resolution rates. If this doesn’t work, go to the Radeon Advanced Settings and check if there is an option to adjust the Extended Display Identification Data (EDID) emulation. Follow the steps below to learn how.
IMPORTANT: Before performing the steps, you must first download the Radeon Pro Software for Enterprise 19.Q1 here.
Step 1:
Go to Radeon Advanced Settings.
Step 2:
Select EDID Emulation from the left-hand menu.
NOTE: Not all AMD GPU/APU allow EDID Emulation configuration but some older GPU/APU support this option.
Step 3:
Then, click the boxes under Select display connections to configure to expand the available GPU connections.
Step 4:
Select Display Connections. Under this section, the available ports in the GPU and the connection type are displayed.
Step 5:
Select the connected port. Click the + sign on the right side of the port to apply an EDID emulation.
Step 6:
In the dialog box, select the EDID that you want to use. It can be From Display or From File.
NOTE: If you select From File, browse and open the utility software you have previously downloaded.
Step 7:
In the dialog box under the Connection Properties, locate Connection.
Step 8:
Set the DisplayPort to Passive.
Step 9:
Click Apply.
