Disabling proxy settings on a Mac® computer

Proxy settings are used when your Mac® computer is connected to a network that requires a Proxy Server in accessing the Internet.  These can be discarded when your computer is directly connected to the router or the router installed is the default gateway for accessing the Internet.
 
This article will show you how to disable the proxy settings of your Mac computer.  Follow the steps below to proceed.

 
Step 1:
Click the Apple icon then select the System Preferences… option.
 
Step 2:
Under Internet & Wireless, select Network.
 
Step 3:
Click the Configure… button when the Network screen appears.
 
Step 4:
Click Proxies.  Make sure that all the boxes under Select a proxy server to configure: are unchecked.
 
Step 5:
Click Apply Now.
 
You have now successfully disabled the Proxy settings on your Mac computer.
