Connecting your Nexus™ 7 to the Wi-Fi

The Nexus™ 7 is one of the popular tablets available in the market today used for wireless mobile browsing, video streaming, e-book reading, and more.  This article will give you instructions on how to connect it to the Wi-Fi.

QUICK TIP:  Make sure you know the wireless settings of your router before connecting your device to the network.

Step 1:
Tap Settings.  There are two ways to go to Settings:
  1. Swipe down the Notifications bar at the top.
  2. Tap All Apps in the Favorites tray on your home screen.
Step 2:
Select Wi-Fi and look for your Wi-Fi name.

NOTE:  Make sure that the Wi-Fi switch is On.  Otherwise, the available Wi-Fi networks will not appear.

Step 3:
If your Wi-Fi is secured, then enter the correct password or security key.

QUICK TIP:  Secured networks are indicated with a lock icon.  Also, if the device detects a network that you have connected to previously, the Nexus 7 will connect to it automatically.

Step 4:
Tap Connect.

Your Nexus 7 tablet should now be connected to the Wi-Fi.

QUICK TIP:  Tap your SSID again to get the wireless settings of your network such as Status, Signal strength, Link speed, Security and IP address.
