Charging errors on the Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE™ Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger Pad, WIA005

For safety, the Belkin BOOST↑CHARGE™ Magnetic Portable Wireless Charger Pad, WIA005 will stop charging if it detects a non-compatible device, is using a low-powered power supply, or if it detects that the phone or charging pad is becoming too hot.  When this happens, the status light will illuminate orange until the situation is remedied.
    
What are the reasons for the Belkin WIA005 to signify a charging error?
  • Placing a non-MagSafe®-compatible device on the base pad
  • Placing a metal object on the base pad
  • Using a non-MagSafe case
  • A malfunctioning iOS-compatible device
  • Overheating device while charging

What can I do when I encounter a charging error on my Belkin WIA005?
  • Remove the Belkin WIA005 from your device and wait at least 10 seconds for the light to turn OFF.
  • If you are using a case, remove it from your phone and try placing the Belkin WIA005 directly on your phone.
  • Unplug the Belkin WIA005 from power and wait 10 seconds before plugging it back in.
  • If the phone or charging pad feels hot, remove the phone from the charging pad and allow both devices to cool down.  This should only take a few minutes.  Make sure to turn OFF any apps running in the background and remove any case from the phone to ensure proper ventilation while charging.
