HARDWARE INFORMATION
Yes, the power is auto-switching 100–240V.
The length of the Belkin F1DC101H is 6 ft.
When the CAC reader is plugged into a computer, the generic driver set is pulled through by the OS. Clients can then authenticate via the CAC reader with their network using a CAC or PIV card that has already been set up by their Information Security group. Belkin sells the reader but does not sell the CAC / PIV smartcards.
In short, additional software is needed to program the card, not to operate the reader. As for the software, it is best for them to talk to their IS group, as the software used will depend on the type of card used (CAC or PIV), as well as what they are using the card for, etc.
The products work with any USB-capable computer, including SUN. If the SUN computer is not USB-enabled, an adapter is required.
The CAC reader would have to be used on the target server side (plugged directly into the computer in question, not the KVM). The KVM itself does not have a USB port that will allow you to use one CAC reader across all connected servers.
