The Belkin Easy Transfer Cable allows you to transfer files between two (2) computers. This article will provide you with instructions on how to set up the Easy Transfer Cable for computers with Windows 8 operating system.
Step 1:
Insert the Easy Transfer Cable Setup CD in your old computer’s CD or DVD drive.
Step 2:
Once the Welcome screen appears, click Next.
The software will verify the operating system’s compatibility and install Windows Easy Transfer Cable to your computer.
NOTE: If your operating system is currently not compatible, there will be a prompt to install the
Windows Service Pack 2 (SP2) for Windows XP or SP1 for Windows Vista.
Step 3:
Click Finish.
NOTE: If there is a prompt to restart, select Yes and continue with the steps below.
Step 4:
Launch Windows Easy Transfer on both computers then click Next.
NOTE: The software is built-in on your Windows 8 computer. To launch it, hover your mouse to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click the Search charm. Enter “Windows Easy Transfer” in the Search field and click on it to open.
Step 5:
When the Windows Easy Transfer window appears, click Next.
Step 6:
Select An Easy Transfer cable on both computers.
Step 7:
Select This is my new computer from your Windows 8 computer. Select This is my old computer from your old computer.
Step 8:
Select I already installed it on my old computer.
Step 9:
Click Next on both computers.
Step 10:
Connect the Easy Transfer Cable on both computers and transfer files. For instructions on how to transfer files, click here.
NOTE: Transferred files and data can be located in appropriate folders in the Library folder on your Windows 8 computer.
You should have successfully set up the Belkin Easy Transfer Cable on your computers now.
