The Belkin Fusive Bluetooth Speaker, G2A1000 has firmware that runs on an internal microprocessor and integrated DSP. This firmware provides the general operation framework and control for Fusive. It also provides the following:

- Custom serial protocol endpoint for communication with a Fusive-specific Android™ app over SPP
- Fail-safe upgrade process from images obtained by USB serial interface to a computer host (with supporting host-side web-application)
- Unique identifier storage, control, management and reporting. It includes product UDID, hardware revision, firmware revisions, Bluetooth firmware version, Bluetooth MAC ID and USB VID/PID.
